I had the opportunity to saddle up and ride the trails of Mohican Memorial Forest with my friend, and equine veterinarian, Dr. Christina Coudret and her lovely horses, Reba and Walker. Located in Northeast Ohio in Ashland County, Mohican State Park and Mohican Memorial State Forest offers over 27 miles of bridle trails through beautiful Ohio landscapes. Riders can experience lush green forests, ravines, creeks, rolling terrain, short, steep slopes, and wildlife (birds, deer, squirrels, and wild turkey were on some trails) when on a Mohican bridle trail. It was an enjoyable ride, taking in the beauty of Ohio’s natural landscapes, and reconnecting with nature on the back of a beautiful horse!
